If you plan to be out at the practice facility next week, keep an eye out for stray shots—we are hosting our first Junior Golf Camp of the summer!
Taught by our new Pro, Ricky Weber, and his Assistant, Gerald Richardson, this three-day camp includes kids of all ages who are interested in learning the necessary skills to play golf.
Golf is great for kids! The sport allows for them to fine tune their hand-eye coordination, it promotes focus, and it is a great reminder that practice will pay off in the long run. Plus, they get to be outside with a group of other kids who have the same interest!
Ricky & Gerald start with the basics—things like grip & stance, progressing into chipping, putting, and full swing! Their lessons are incorporated into various games & competition to help keep the kids interested and to make sure that everyone is having fun.
If you are interested in getting your child involved in golf, Gerald recommends a basic starter set of golf clubs with a putter, two irons, and either a 3-wood or a driver! Along with the proper instructor, that’s all that they will need to get started.
